Testimonials
Chuck “Rev” Pearce
A teenage rebel, reformed twenty-something father, business owner and committed church goer,
my wife and I worked with a church teen youth group for nine years, and I held a number of
leadership positions within a couple of conventional churches in the Metro Vancouver area.
Business successes, failures and bad company contributed to lifestyle changes resulting in a
backslidden faith, and seemingly, separation from God. While the Lord saw me run wild and
knock on death’s door more than once, he never left me and when I finally got to that fork in
life’s road having been arrested on an outstanding warrant and sitting in a jail cell . . . at the age
of fifty, I had the very clear and unmistakeable thought impressed upon me; God’s hand of
grace, forgiveness and hope was reaching down to me (metaphorically) from heaven. I sensed
his love for me as I sat there, and his desire that I ‘come home’ and rededicate my life to him. I
had hurt so many people and endangered those who had loved and supported me, resulting in
an anvil of guilt that I carried with me everywhere.
I looked upwards to heaven and asked Jesus Christ to take over my life, and I made a
commitment to him that somehow, some way, I would serve him in a ministry. I prayed that he
would take the ‘cup’ from me and get me out of jail, and I vowed to change my life. The weight
of the world came off my shoulders and from that day I began the long journey back to a
committed faith walk. Trusting Jesus Christ with every part of my life.
In the months that followed, I became involved in a Christian motorcycle clothing distribution
business where I traveled to biker events and sold ( actually gave away as much or more than
I ever sold ) T-shirts and clothing, with the emphasis being on sharing Jesus Christ with
un-churched bikers, not the selling of merchandise. God opened many doors and gave me favour
with people seeking God and looking for encouragement in their faith.
Nearly six years later, the commitment I had made to serve God in a ministry has resulted in my
role as pastor with Freedom Biker Church, in Surrey.
We read in 2nd Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old
one has gone, the new one has come.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, and I am privileged to serve him . . .
and I am blessed to have such a committed leadership team working in a spirit of unity.
